Frequently Asked Questions For Monuments

Frequently Asked Questions For Monuments

We are regularly asked many questions in relation to monuments. We have created a list of the main ones to help you in this difficult process. If you have a more specific question that has not been covered please come into one of our offices and speak with our professional team members.

  • Q: Do I need to wait 12 months before placing a monument at the cemetery?
  • A: No, there is no need to wait. When you feel you are ready to discuss the choices available call us.
  • Q: Do I need to purchase a memorial even if there was a cremation?
  • A: No, marking a grave space is optional. We of course recommend it to provide a place for reflection and comfort. It also offers genealogical information for future generations.
  • Q: What type of material should the memorial be made of?
  • A: Most memorials are made of one of three materials: Granite, sandstone or bronze. We recommend and use granite because of the options it gives you and its durability. All materials can be viewed at our showrooms.
  • Q: Who will install my memorial?
  • A: Edstein Creative installs all memorials it manufactures, unless other arrangements are requested.
  • Q: How are the letters and design put on the stone?
  • A: We use a sandblasting technique that ensures your monument is engraved smoothly.
  • Q: If I want a special design, can you do it?
  • A: Of course, we are a complete custom manufacturers and fully qualified stone masons and can fabricate any design you would like that the material selected allows.
  • Q: Do all cemeteries allow the same type of monuments?
  • A: No, regulations vary from cemetery to cemetery, and in some cases vary inside the same cemetery from section to section or even lot to lot. It is always best to check with your cemetery, or a qualified monumental company like Edstein Creative.
  • Q: How long does it take to complete a memorial?
  • A: Install of your completed monument (if using inventory stock) occurs four to six weeks after you have approved your artwork. Monuments from non-inventory stock can take up to twelve weeks to complete and install.
  • Q: Why would I buy a memorial in advance?
  • A: Memorials are designed to represent the individual, who better to decide how they want to be remembered than you. Decision making in advance is easier than at a time of grief.
  • Q: How much does a monument cost?
  • A: The cost of your monument will vary, based on size, material and extra items such as vases or ceramic photos. Remember above all else, when it comes to a monument, you truly get what you pay for. Anyone can adjust quality to accommodate a lower price. We are happy to give an obligation free quote based on your specific requirements at any one of our showrooms.
